**About the Role**
The University of Arizona's Department of Medicine is seeking exceptional research scientists to expand our biomedical research team. These are tenure-track faculty positions, with the opportunity to work at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to lead independent, federally-funded research programs, mentor students and postdoctoral fellows, and contribute to the department's teaching mission.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and maintain a robust, independent, and extramurally-funded research program
- Publish high-impact research findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty
- Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities
- Contribute to the department's teaching mission, including medical and graduate education
**Requirements**
- PhD, MD, or equivalent doctoral degree in a biomedical or related field
- Demonstrated success in securing extramural research funding (e.g., NIH, NSF, or other federal agencies)
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows
