Research Scholar - Environment, Energy, & Natural Resources
About the role
The University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) invites applications for a non-tenure track Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Research Scholar to begin academic year 2024-25. The ideal candidate will have some experience in energy or environmental law and/or policy and an interest in research and teaching. This Research Scholar position is intended for J.D. graduates who are looking for an opportunity to prepare for an academic career.
Responsibilities
- Enrollment and completion of an LL.M. in EENR, a 24-credit hour obligation;
- Research and write at least one sole authored, publishable, full-length law review article related to environment, energy, or natural resources;
- Carry out a program of tutorial instruction for an approved course.
Qualifications
- Applications are invited from students now finishing the work for their first degree (J.D.) in law and from law graduates who wish to enter the academic field.

- Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidate.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The appointment is a one-year commitment with the potential to renew for a second year. It is conditioned upon acceptance into the UHLC LL.M. in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENR) Law program.
