Summary

The Research Project Specialist works with the assigned PI and the research team working the assigned projects/protocols. Job duties may include preparing documents for clinical/laboratory protocols and assisting with the preparation and submission of manuscripts and grant applications. This can be more than one project, however most of these positions will focus on one main project or consortium study. This can be a dry lab or wet lab position. In the dry lab specifically, the Research Project Specialist serves as a supervisor/project coordinator for studies related to the PI. Creates, modifies and maintains databases for research studies related to the PI. Works under the supervision of the PI to prioritize research initiatives and assist with manuscript preparation. In the wet lab specifically, the Research Project Specialist assists with the management of study samples and data. Works independently under minimal supervision to coordinate the activities of assigned research protocols. Also, may conduct and perform experiments as part of the research team under the general guidance of a PI.

Job Description

Dr. Hyo Han is recruiting a Research Project Specialist to coordinate studies related to Dr. Han’s research at the Moffitt Cancer Center. This position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day administrative duties associated with Dr. Han’s research protocols, as well as work assigned to the research staff working on the assigned protocols.

Credentials and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4 years of science-related experience and/or Research Administration relevant experience, such as project planning and working within the context of timelines and deliverables. In lieu of a Bachelor's, a Master's, only 2 years are required.
