Position Summary
The School of Nursing at Columbia University (New York) seeks a talented, highly motivated MPH-level research scientist with a background in intervention implementation research. The candidate will support a range of studies aimed at reducing health disparities, particularly in infectious diseases, mental health, and substance use.
Responsibilities
- Leads research team meetings for study protocol development, study monitoring, and implementation compliance.
- Supports IRB-related activities across studies.
- Programs and formats project data collection tools.
- Oversees data collection and management. Maintains REDCap and Qualtrics databases for the project.
- Oversees project data collection, including sending links and following up with those who have not completed them.
- Conducts research-related contracting and purchasing. Supports contracts management.
- Cofacilitates the dissemination of research findings and results presentation for the preparation of reports, manuscripts, presentations, and proposals.
- Coordinates research sites and investigator meetings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Familiarity with SPSS, Qualtrics, REDCap and other digital research tools is required.
- Comfort with performing tasks at various levels of complexity is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Master’s degree preferred.
- Public health or research-focused social sciences background.
- Knowledge, experience, and comfort in working with various types of collaborators, including academics, community-based partners, medical/healthcare cadre, and members of various minority groups, especially sexual and gender minorities.
