About the role
The Research Program Associate I will support main lab operations, assist with animal care, reagent preparation, and train students. Responsibilities include executing experiments, contributing to grant submissions, and presenting findings.
Responsibilities
- Supports main lab operations
- Assists with animal care
- Prepares reagents
- Trains new personnel on lab procedures
- Executes experiments to obtain data for grant submissions and papers
- Selects and applies standard techniques of routine research
- Keeps detailed records of data
- Analyzes and evaluates results
- Designs, plans, and coordinates experiments in support of various research projects
- Selects and arranges meeting facilities and equipment for meetings and special events associated with research projects
- Maintains an accurate laboratory notebook
- Writes manuscripts and contributes to grant proposals
- Presents findings
- Conducts general lab duties, purchasing, autoclaving, and animal maintenance
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent
- Three years of experience in a research lab or office setting (undergraduate research acceptable)
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related area
- Experience with rodent models, cell culture, cryostat and histology
- Knowledge of cell culture techniques
- Knowledge of rodent husbandry and handling
- Cryostat work expertise
- Knowledge of rodent brain tissue dissection
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Keyboarding skills
Qualifications

Pay
