Research Professional 5 - Clinical Research Project Management

The Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Research Professional 5 for the Vinogradov Lab. This is a 75% FTE (30 hours per week) position. The role involves handling complex research projects, applying in-depth subject-matter knowledge, and overseeing data acquisition, management, analysis, and interpretation. This position reports to the Research Manager for the Vinogradov Lab, with indirect reporting to the Principal Investigator for scientific direction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee active studies for data collection preparation, data quality control monitoring, continuity across projects, and development/maintenance of related databases (REDCap, BrainHQ, MIRAH, etc.).
• Serve as an expert resource to lab members, collaborators, colleagues, and the scientific community in areas of expertise.
• Shepherd complex project approvals through regulatory oversight and compliance organizations.
• Instruct and supervise personnel, volunteers, student workers, and undergraduate and graduate students in study procedures and related responsibilities, including holding regular supervisory meetings.
• Coordinate activities with lab personnel and collaborators to ensure continuity, consistency, collaboration, support, and communication for relevant projects.
• Participate in lab activities, including lab meetings, leadership meetings, project-specific meetings, and other related activities.
• Conduct data curation, analyses, and interpretation for previous and current projects to support presentations, papers, proposals, reports, and other relevant items.
• Ensure data management practices, data collection, data entry, and data storage comply with institutional and department policies and adhere to the Federal Code of Regulations and GCP Standards.
• Provide manuscript development and management through to completion and publication.
• Conduct literature reviews to continually develop or modify methodology and experimental design for current and future projects.
• Assist in preparing research presentations for national and international meetings and present at relevant meetings as applicable.
• Assist in preparing grant proposals and related materials.
• Maintain current training certifications as required for working with human subjects and on federally funded projects.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree plus at least six years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus at least four years of relevant experience.
• At least six years of substantial research and publication productivity.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of research management.
• Experience with managing clinical trials.
• Ability to work with investigators of all experience levels.
• Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures for clinical research at the University of Minnesota.
• Knowledge of federal regulations governing human subjects and clinical research.
• Skill in interpreting, analyzing, and explaining applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Skill in the effective use of computer systems and software.
• Skill in maintaining appropriate records and files.
• Skill in ensuring the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.

Pay

Salary range is $112,000 - $127,000 annually, depending on education, qualifications, and experience. This is a 75% FTE (30 hours per week) position.
