About the role

The Research Operations Lead position is within the Customer Insights team, a core function within the marketing organization at Salesforce. The team is responsible for delivering objective, actionable insights that inform the company's marketing strategy and external narrative.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose workflow problems and identify opportunity
  • Develop a point of view on priorities and bring proposals to team leadership with a recommendation, not just options
  • Build AI-assisted workflows targeting high-effort, repeatable research tasks
  • Automate team operations targeting places where work slows down unnecessarily
  • Maintain research credibility by understanding the research lifecycle and spotting where AI helps and where it quietly degrades quality
  • Translate between the operational and the practical, making a clear case for why something is worth building and why researchers should change how they work
  • Operate with direction rather than a detailed roadmap, and know when to escalate rather than push through alone

Requirements

  • A solid grounding in both quantitative and qualitative primary research, with meaningful experience in research operations
  • Genuine, applied experience using AI and automation to improve how a team operates
  • Diagnostic instincts to look for friction, develop recommendations rather than lists of possibilities, and care that researchers actually use what you build

Qualifications

  • Comfortable presenting workflow diagnoses and tool proposals to team leadership
  • Clear communication skills
  • Experience with SurveyMonkey at a technical or admin level (nice to have)
  • B2B tech or enterprise software research background (nice to have)
  • Exposure to Salesforce products or ecosystem (nice to have)
