Research Nurse PRN (Staff Wage)
About the role
This role involves performing blood draws from indwelling catheters and via fingerstick on study participants, as well as adhering to research study procedures and protocols in both inpatient and on-location settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws from indwelling catheters and via fingerstick on study participants
- Adhere to research study procedures and protocols in both inpatient and on-location settings
- Study-specific research training will be provided
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
- Experience: 1 year of relevant experience required
- Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required
Qualifications
- Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
- Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50 – 100lbs
- May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease

- This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits
- Work is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year

Schedule
- Shifts may include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday hours
- Shifts are scheduled based on study needs
- Employees will work on an as-needed basis (PRN)
- Will not exceed 40 hours per week
