About the role
As a Research Nurse, you will assist with the implementation and conduct of human subject research projects, applying the nursing process while ensuring full adherence to research protocol requirements. In this role, you will provide study support for the Cardiac Imaging clinical research team across multiple complex studies, including key support for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) research. You will also contribute to investigator-initiated research activities within the Cleveland Clinic Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center.
Responsibilities
- Timely completion and communication of regulatory documents
- Developing data capture and monitoring plans
- Reporting serious adverse events
- Completing FDA and sponsor forms
- Serving as a liaison between investigators, research personnel, outside study personnel and central research administration offices to assist in protocol interpretation, enrollment and safety questions
- Utilizing the nursing process as a basis for patient care
- Assessing research subjects, completing nursing assessments, documenting findings in research subject records and notifying the physician of abnormal findings
- Establishing a care plan in collaboration with the research subject, family and research team and coordinating ongoing care
- Evaluating, initiating and maintaining standards of care consistent with CCHS policies & procedures
- Performing telephone triage, nursing procedures and treatments
- Evaluating, initiating and maintaining standards of care consistent with CCHS policies & procedures
- Assisting with specialized patient care equipment as required by the clinical research protocol
- Administering medications and treatments as ordered by a physician or LIP
- Directing, coordinating and participating in the evaluation & supervision of nursing care provided to research subjects, establishing patient care priorities and delegating nursing activities according to the patient needs and staff qualifications and capabilities
- Conducting and documenting the informed consent process
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
- Two years of clinical experience
- Within 90 days of hire, successfully complete certification in Human Subjects Research as required by the Responsible Conduct of Research guidelines adopted by Cleveland Clinic
- Basic computer proficiency

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Pay
Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50
