About the role
The Department of Periodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Research faculty (Non-Tenure) position, with appointment beginning fall 2026. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Research Assistant Professor.
Responsibilities
- Drive pioneering research initiatives
- Manage laboratory projects
- Contribute to the academic mission of the Department and the College
- Multidisciplinary collaboration
- Secure external funding
- Mentor graduate and resident students
- Develop, lead, and execute independent and collaborative research projects
- Apply for external research funding
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- Mentor graduate students, dental residents, and postdoctoral fellows
- Oversight of daily laboratory operations, compliance, and data integrity
- Contribute to the service activities of the Department
Requirements
- PhD in Applied Chemistry
- Hands-on experience in polymer materials design, synthesis, and characterization
- Expertise in developing animal models for pulp/dentin and periodontal tissue regeneration
- Proficiency in characterization techniques such as NMR, SEM, TEM, FTIR, DSC, AFM, GPC
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and related technologies
