Job Summary
The Research Manager will perform administrative and technical work in support of the research mission within the department. This position will serve as a research coordinator, assisting leadership in coordinating clinical research and related internal and external projects.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of clinical research studies, including supporting protocol development, preparing informed consent documents, and maintaining regulatory files.
- Serves as a participant liaison and supports clinical procedures as appropriate (e.g., basic assessments, documentation, and source records).
- Provides support to research staff and students by assisting with study-related tasks and day-to-day research activities.
- Maintains study documentation, prepares reports, and supports special projects.
- Serves as liaison between funding agencies, HAC, Office of Grants and Contracts and researchers in the department.
- Notifies Chairman and other departmental principal investigators in the Dept. of Psychiatry about research deadlines, techniques, procedures and other aspects of research necessary to complete projects.
- Attends meetings, seminars, etc., related to grants.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. from an accredited college or university with a minimum of one year of experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
- OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of five years' experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
- OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of eight years' experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
Preferred Experience
- Previous supervisory experience.
