About the Role
The Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a Research Lab Tech I to join a translational research team focused on the immune-pathogenesis of serious cutaneous diseases, including severe drug allergies and graft-versus-host disease, as well as novel therapeutics for cutaneous disease. The lab works with both human specimens and mice, aiming to directly impact patient care.
Responsibilities
- General lab maintenance and support, including ordering supplies, preparing media and buffers, and breeding and genotyping mice.
- Perform independent experimentation such as immunohistochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, cell culture, protein purification, Western blot analysis, and mouse experimentation.
- Conduct integrative data analyses using genomic, proteomic, and single-cell technologies (e.g., RNASeq, CYTOF).
- Develop tools to manipulate and present data.
- Maintain shared documents and datasets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (or equivalent experience).
- 0–1 years of previous research lab experience.
- Analytical skills and ability to resolve technical problems.
- Ability to interpret the acceptability of data results.
- Strong computer skills.
- Demonstrated competence in research techniques and methodologies.
Additional Details
This is an onsite role located at 221 Longwood Avenue, with a scheduled workweek of 40 hours during daytime shifts.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $23.80 – $29.01.
