Research Lab Specialist II_CCMT

What You Will Do

• Performs lab tests which require the analysis of results and interpretation of methods
• Plans and develops specific research protocols and procedures
• Develops & troubleshoots new techniques and ideas
• Formulates and performs complex lab experiments, analyzes data and reports outcomes
• Presents & discusses work at weekly lab meetings
• Prepares laboratory reagents and monitors and maintains inventory
• Performs calculations and maintains appropriate log books and lab notebooks
• Maintains laboratory equipment, develops safety procedures and compliance records
• Research journals, papers and other scientific publications for pertinent information
• Prepares data for publication or presentation at national/international symposia (presentation in papers, grant applications, and conferences)
• May be called upon to present at national symposia
• Oversees junior staff and/or laboratory workflow
• Performs independently various lab administrative tasks / functions

Education Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Master's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

• At least five (5) years of directly relevant post grad scientific lab experience Required
• At least seven (7) years of directly relevant post grad scientific lab experience Preferred
