Research Intern - Thoracic/Head & Neck Medical Oncology

Learning Objectives

Gain hands-on experience in clinical research and oncology data management.
Learn how to review and extract information from electronic medical records, understand clinical variables (such as stage, treatment, outcomes), and work with research datasets.
Develop skills in data organization, quality control, and gain experience collaborating with researchers and oncologists.
Gain an understanding of the workflow of clinical research, principles of data integrity, and how clinical data supports hypothesis generation and publication-quality analyses.

Eligibility Requirements

• Current undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, or master's student in a relevant field.
• Strong attention to detail, responsibility, and interest in cancer research or healthcare data.
• Preferred but not required: experience with clinical data management or clinical research.

Position Information

• Offsite work arrangements are subject to approval and may be modified or revoked at any time based on business needs, performance considerations, or regulatory requirements.
• This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
