About the role
The Departments of Radiology and Psychiatry at Mayo Clinic are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to support neuroimaging research projects focusing on brain structure and neural network mechanisms underlying neuropsychiatric disorders like cognitive impairment and bipolar disorder.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement novel pulse sequences and reconstruction algorithms to enhance MRI spatial-temporal resolution, particularly for CVR mapping and fMRI.
- Collect, process, and analyze neuroimaging data using software such as AFNI, SPM, FreeSurfer, Matlab, and Python.
- Design and conduct MR imaging pulse sequences on MRI scanners, adapt imaging protocols, and perform complex-valued signal modeling and statistical analysis of BOLD responses, including echo combination strategies and CO2 challenge protocols.
- Present research findings in departmental grand rounds, journal clubs, and academic seminars such as ISMRM.
- Participate in professional development activities and workshops.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, biophysics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, computer science, neuroscience, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Technical expertise in MRI physics and advanced programming skills.
- A solid commitment to team science and multi-departmental collaboration.
- Strong communication skills and a track record of research in neuroimaging in human subjects, including experience with advanced quantitative methods.
