About the role
The Research Engineer supports scientific research efforts in the Content Reasoning, Enrichment and Localization team. They build and deploy Generative AI models across various Prime Video lines of business, including Derivative Content, Trust & Safety, and Metadata Localization.
Responsibilities
- Support Applied Scientists on the team by building experiment frameworks, infrastructure, and deployment packages.
- Facilitate science benchmarking, model training, model deployment, and deep dive on any deep learning-related technical problems.
- Lead or facilitate joint projects between science and engineering teams.
- End-to-end ownership of model training and deployment, from managing GPU clusters to monitoring job queues and containerizing trained models for production.
- Support multiple research teams across various lines of business and machine learning methodologies.
Requirements
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
- Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
- Experience with Linux/Unix.
- Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of working experience with advanced compute technologies.
- Experience with cloud computing technologies.
- Experience in developing and deploying Large Language Models (LLMs) in production on GPUs, TPUs, or other AI acceleration hardware.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience with large-scale machine learning systems.

- Publishations or contributions to open-source HPC projects.
