Applied Science Manager, Prime Video Personalization & Discovery

About the role

As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. You’ll get to work on projects that are fast-paced, challenging, and varied. You’ll also be able to experiment with new possibilities, take risks, and collaborate with remarkable people.

Responsibilities

• Lead to develop AI solutions for various Prime Video recommendation and personalization systems using Deep learning, GenAI, Reinforcement Learning, recommendation system and optimization methods;
• Work closely with engineers and product managers to design, implement and launch AI solutions end-to-end;
• Effectively communicate technical and non-technical ideas with teammates and stakeholders;
• Stay up-to-date with advancements and the latest modeling techniques in the field;
• Hire and grow a science team working in this exciting video personalization domain.

About the team

Prime Video Recommendation Science team owns science solutions to power recommendation and personalization experience on various devices. We work closely with the engineering teams to launch our solutions in production.

Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • 4+ years of applied research experience
  • 3+ years of scientists or machine learning engineers management experience
  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • Knowledge of ML, NLP, Information Retrieval and Analytics
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building complex software systems, especially involving deep learning, machine learning and computer vision, that have been successfully delivered to customers

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
