Research Director

About the role

The School of Information at UC Berkeley and its Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity is seeking a 2-year, full-time Research Director at the Associate or Full Research Scientist level, starting in Summer or Fall 2024. The position will focus on overseeing the research agenda for, helping to build, and promoting the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC), with research interests in cybersecurity policy, business, economics, governance, or usability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the research agenda for the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity
• Help further build and promote the Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity
• Conduct research on issues related to the policy, business, economics, governance, or usability of cybersecurity

Requirements

• PhD in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, information science, economics, law)
• Experience in cybersecurity research and policy
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Qualifications

• Research experience in cybersecurity
• Experience in academic or industry settings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Pay

• Salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 per year
