About the role

As a Research Database Coordinator III (RDC III), you will be responsible for protocol-specific data requirements for multiple, diverse, and complex research projects, ensuring alignment with good clinical practice according to Federal regulations. This role involves higher patient volume and/or trial complexity, requiring independent work at the highest level of expertise. You will review and synthesize information from medical records (clinic notes, pathology reports, radiology reports, patient questionnaires, etc.) to extract industry, cooperative, and investigator-initiated trial data as specified by assigned research protocols. The RDC III is the third level in the data coordinator career path.

Responsibilities

  • Perform core support and additional responsibilities for complex research projects, ensuring compliance with Federal regulations and good clinical practice.
  • Review and synthesize information from medical records to extract trial data as specified by research protocols.
  • Work independently under minimal supervision, resolving data queries without routine guidance.
  • Provide assistance in completing various source documents and train other data coordinators.
  • Interpret all components of the medical record while maintaining confidentiality and security of subject data.
  • Demonstrate competency in clinical trial management systems, electronic medical records (EMR), and other data capture/reporting systems.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare professionals, and study monitors.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload under pressure to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree with two (2) years of research data management experience will be considered.
  • Four (4) years of experience with research data management required.
  • Clinical trial management systems and electronic medical record (EMR) experience required.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage high work volume under deadlines.
  • Expertise in interpreting medical records and maintaining confidentiality of subject data.
  • Comfortable interacting with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SOCRA/ACRP certification or equivalent.

Pay

Salary range: $25.06 - $38.24 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on location, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
