About the role

The Research Data Analyst 2 position is within the Personalized Integrative Medicine Laboratory and the Urologic Cancer Innovation Laboratory at Stanford University, Department of Radiology. The role involves managing and analyzing large volumes of medical information, particularly technical or scientific data, for various research projects focusing on prostate cancer or other applications.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and extract data from a variety of sources such as notes, survey results, medical reports, and laboratory data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Determine additional data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Design and customize reports based on data in the database.
  • Oversee and monitor regulatory compliance for the utilization of the data.
  • Use system reports and analyses to identify potentially problematic data, make corrections, and eliminate root causes for data issues or justify solutions to be implemented by others.
  • Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for publication and presentation.
  • Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys.
  • Test prototype software and participate in the approval and release process for new software.
  • Provide documentation based on audit and reporting criteria to investigators and research staff.

Requirements

Desired qualifications include prior experience in managing, curating, and processing medical data, including radiology and pathology images, and clinical reports. Experience in programming using Python or other scripting languages, familiarity with toolkits like ITK and OpenCV, and expertise in radiomics, segmentation, and image registration are preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative team spirit, and adherence to ethical principles are also required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Substantial experience in a quantitative discipline such as economics, finance, statistics, or engineering.

Skills and Abilities

  • Substantial experience with MS Office and analytical programs.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.

Benefits

This position offers a 1-year duration with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and mutual agreement. The role provides opportunities to work with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians, statisticians, computer scientists, and trainees within the Department of Radiology at Stanford University.

Physical Requirements
