About the role
The Research Contract Specialist will report directly to the Director of Clinical Research Management and will have a functional reporting relationship to the Office of Legal Affairs. The role facilitates the timely review and execution of research-related contractual agreements on behalf of Prisma Health. Remote work is currently supported from select states.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and edits research-related agreements in accordance with policy, relevant law, regulation, and accreditation requirements.
- Works with research staff and research sponsor staff to communicate edits, negotiate, and execute agreements in a timely manner.
- Responds to research staff contract inquiries.
- Uses contract management system and other project management software to track all contract activity and report on metrics.
- Meets with internal institution stakeholders (Legal Affairs, Information Technology, Purchasing, etc.) to review specialized contract issues and receive direction on new regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates and communicates with the Office of Research Support Services teams to receive direction on contract priorities, changes in policy, and other issues.
- Reviews clinical research documents to ensure consistency of terms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal, or related field of study.
- Two (2) years of research, contract administration, or related experience.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret legal and regulatory language.
- Collaborative approach with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to balance speed with risk management.
- Working knowledge of contract or project management software preferred.
- Working knowledge of clinical trials, clinical research, and HIPAA preferred.
