Program Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current U.S. government security clearance or ability to obtain a security clearance
  • PhD in Physics or related field; qualified candidates with a master's degree in a related discipline will be considered
  • A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience and/or research experience; experience in related research activity will be considered
  • At least one publication in a related subject
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and efficiently within a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment
  • Accurate communication of technical and scientific issues to people with varying levels of expertise
  • Persuasive speaking/writing skills

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and expertise for quantum computing devices
  • Assimilate and integrate technical inputs from internal / external organizations and analyze technical deliverables and reports
  • Conduct technical writing and material for presentation
  • Conduct independent reviews and summaries of related technical literature and emerging technologies and participate in technical exchanges and workshops related to program technical areas
  • Develop and document testing methodology and protocols, ensuring they align with program technology components
  • Cook up, align, and schedule technology development tasks and perform continuous analysis of technical progress in comparison to planned cost and schedule
  • Perform technical and programmatic risk analysis/review and tracking

Qualifications

  • Experience and knowledge in development and simulation techniques related to operation of fault-tolerant quantum computers such as resource-state distillation, logical algorithm layouts, and logical gate execution
  • Experience with analysis of alternatives and improvements to feasibility of techniques (different qubit modalities, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to review and analyze research and reports in this area of study relating to quantum computing and qubit technologies

Desired Experience

  • Experience in quantum information research (experiment or theory), particularly in quantum computing research is preferred
  • Postdoc experience or equivalent is preferred
  • Fault Tolerant Quantum Computing/Quantum Error Correction is desired
  • Noise modeling in STIM circuits is desired
  • Quantum Characterization Verification and Validation techniques is desired

Pay Range

$115,000 - $215,000 per year
