Research Compliance Coordinator

About the Role

The Research Compliance Coordinator ensures compliance with federal and state research regulations, institutional policies, and best practices. This position provides specialized regulatory expertise and administrative support to the UIW research community in several research compliance areas, including protecting human subjects in research, managing conflicts of interest in research, training in the responsible conduct of research, and education in research ethics and research compliance. The Research Compliance Coordinator reports to the Director of Research Operations.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Provide strong customer service and anticipate needs with high responsiveness to requests and inquiries.
• Interact professionally with multiple constituencies.
• Analyze and interpret highly technical, compliance-related information.
• Articulate and ensure institutional compliance in research areas such as human subject research, financial conflict of interest, research misconduct, and responsible conduct of research.
• Maintain confidentiality, high ethical standards, and compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
• Organize work effectively, prioritize objectives, focus on details and outcomes, and exercise independent judgment based on policies and procedures.
• Learn and manage web-based application systems.
• Use office software packages, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook.
• Work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
• Adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Public or Business Administration, or other applicable research-intensive discipline.
• Two (2) years of experience in a professional setting focused on research administration, clinical research, or research compliance with human subjects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• Relevant experience in a university or government setting and familiarity with human subject research compliance issues.

Pay

$63,000–$65,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional extended hours as needed to meet departmental goals.
