About the role
The Research Compliance Administrator leads and coordinates Auburn University at Montgomery’s (AUM’s) research compliance programs to ensure all research activities adhere to federal, state, and institutional regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational oversight of all research compliance programs (IBC, IRB, IACUC).
- Develop and maintain systems for protocol submission, review, tracking and reporting.
- Cook up compliance committee meetings, training and documentation.
- Develop, update and disseminate compliance-related policies and SOPs.
- Ensure alignment with federal regulations.
- Oversee audits, inspections and compliance assessments.
- Provide regulatory guidance to researchers and administrators.
- Support training programs, audits, reporting requests and documentation for site visits.
Qualifications
- BS, MS or PhD in a relevant discipline
- Duties Successful candidates must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following disciplines, or another area related to the position duties: Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Health and Safety Safety, Security and Emergency Management Public Health Industrial Hygiene Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry Healthcare Administration Research Administration Public Policy
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s in science and one of the more challenging professional certifications is also highly competitive. Examples of such certificates include Certified Health Physicist (CHP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Biological Safety Professional (CBSP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA), Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP).
