Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Public/Community Health required or
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology required or
- Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Social Work required or
- Related Field of Study required
- Additional qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience in community health in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Oncology, behavioral health, community health, or related field experience, preferably in a clinical setting, 1-2 years preferred
- Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of the cancer care experience, behavioral health, and patient/caregiver advocacy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines and experiences
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with electronic health records and data management software
- Experience with or interest in learning about clinical research
- Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences
Responsibilities
- Work closely with caregivers and healthcare providers to ensure a seamless and person-centered experience by assisting with navigating the complexities of the healthcare system
- Build psychosocial skills and provide support to improve caregiver and patient outcomes
- Identify and promote professional resources to strengthen relationships and improve communication skills
- Facilitate emotional awareness and cognitive reframing skills among caregivers to enhance coping
- Follow intervention protocols and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of caregiver interactions
