Research Community Health Worker

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Public/Community Health required or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology required or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Social Work required or
  • Related Field of Study required
• Additional qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience in community health in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Oncology, behavioral health, community health, or related field experience, preferably in a clinical setting, 1-2 years preferred
• Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of the cancer care experience, behavioral health, and patient/caregiver advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines and experiences
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and data management software
  • Experience with or interest in learning about clinical research
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences

Responsibilities

• Work closely with caregivers and healthcare providers to ensure a seamless and person-centered experience by assisting with navigating the complexities of the healthcare system
• Build psychosocial skills and provide support to improve caregiver and patient outcomes
• Identify and promote professional resources to strengthen relationships and improve communication skills
• Facilitate emotional awareness and cognitive reframing skills among caregivers to enhance coping
• Follow intervention protocols and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of caregiver interactions
