Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare, or a research-related field
- MUST have 3+ years of experience in clinical research budgeting
- MUST have experience working with sponsor-funded and grant-funded clinical research
- MUST have experience with both pre-award and post-award processes
- MUST have experience in clinical research budget development and negotiation
- MUST have experience with coverage analysis, research rate setting, and protocol interpretation
- MUST have experience with billing compliance, medical coding, or research contract management
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Index/Match, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, develop, and draft complex clinical trial budgets for sponsor-funded and grant-funded research
- Perform pre-award activities, including budget development, cost analysis, and proposal support
- Manage post-award activities, including budget tracking, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Review and interpret clinical trial protocols to determine appropriate cost allocation and required resources
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and sponsor guidelines
- Negotiate budget terms and conditions with pharmaceutical sponsors, cooperative groups, and internal stakeholders
- Participate in coverage analysis and research rate setting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with investigators, research coordinators, and finance teams
- Maintain strong working relationships and deliver a high level of customer service
