Research Associate Professor - Vision Sciences

About the role

The Department of Vision Sciences at the College of Optometry at the University of Houston invites applications for a non-tenure track Research Associate Professor position. The successful candidate will be involved in scholarship productivity within the research group, designing and performing research projects, collecting and analyzing data, generating publication-quality figures, and publishing research results in peer-reviewed journals.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement or supervise, and perform research projects.
• Develop and improve advanced imaging capabilities.
• Collect and analyze data, generate publication-quality figures, and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
• Pursue or assist in pursuing external funding to support his/her research.
• Supervise trainees and technical staff, provide expertise-specific mentoring to graduate students.

Qualifications and Skills

• PhD in Biomedical Sciences or closely related discipline, more than 5 years experience.
• Advanced knowledge of imaging for eye disease and/or cancer.

Salary

Commensurate with experience.

Benefits

This position is supported by grant funding for at least 12 months, and extension is contingent upon additional or continued funding.
