About the Role
The position is available for a Research Associate Professor to work in the laboratory of Dr. Stephen Black at the Center of Translational Science. Successful candidates will hold a primary position at the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work in the department of Environmental Health Sciences. Successful candidates are expected to have and maintain a strong research program in the area of metabolic reprogramming in pulmonary vascular disease and acute lung injury. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science or related area, with research experience of cell and molecular biology. Expertise in rodent models of acute lung injury of pulmonary hypertension would be desirable.
Responsibilities
- Hold a primary position at the Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work in the department of Environmental Health Sciences.
- Conduct research in the area of metabolic reprogramming in pulmonary vascular disease and acute lung injury.
- Maintain a strong research program with a focus on cell and molecular biology.
- Collaborate with colleagues and maintain close communication and collaboration through teleconference and seminar facilities.
- Mentor graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
- Secure external funding and contribute to scholarly work.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biomedical Science or related area.
- Research experience in cell and molecular biology.
- Expertise in rodent models of acute lung injury and pulmonary hypertension (desirable).
