Responsibilities

  • Support the Office of Science and Technology as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.
  • Advis[e] top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues.
  • Work to evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
  • Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
  • Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues.
  • Conduct biotechnology research analysis.
  • Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
  • Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
  • Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology.
  • Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
  • Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience of engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
  • Master’s degree in STEM
  • Minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree
  • A current and active TS/SCI Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • Excellent writing, communication and briefing skills

Pay

Pay Transparency Statement: AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
