Responsibilities

  • Support the Secretary of War for Science and Technology (S&T) Program Protection as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.
  • Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues.
  • Evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
  • Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
  • Assist, prepare, and conduct meetings for current biotechnology issues.
  • Conduct biotechnology research analysis.
  • Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
  • Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
  • Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with biotechnology.
  • Maintain and update biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
  • Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
  • Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree.
  • TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and briefing skills.
  • Previous experience with Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
  • Experience in engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
  • Experience with biotechnology programs, biological and biotechnology experimentation, and experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons.
  • Familiarity with RF and directed energy capabilities.

Pay

The salary range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
