Responsibilities
- Support the Secretary of War for Science and Technology (S&T) Program Protection as it guides and supports modern research and analysis of strategic biotechnology initiatives.
- Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues.
- Evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national strategy in defense.
- Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums in addition to specific USD R&E projects.
- Assist, prepare, and conduct meetings for current biotechnology issues.
- Conduct biotechnology research analysis.
- Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies as they apply to DoD's R&E program.
- Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD.
- Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with biotechnology.
- Maintain and update biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders.
- Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E).
- Master’s degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree.
- TS/SCI Clearance.
- Excellent writing, communication, and briefing skills.
- Previous experience with Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes.
- Experience in engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing.
- Experience with biotechnology programs, biological and biotechnology experimentation, and experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons.
- Familiarity with RF and directed energy capabilities.
Pay
The salary range for this position is USD $165,000.00/Yr. - USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
