About the role

The Research Associate (Postdoctoral Fellow) position at the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies (CLACLS) at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY) is integral to the yearly running of the Center. The incumbent will be expected to attend and contribute to CLACLS events and publications, and actively involve themselves in other Center initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research in the field of Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.
  • Writes calls for application, edits, and oversees fellowship programs such as the Latino Data Project Fellowship, the Reportage Fellowship, and the Summer Travel Grants.
  • Collaborates with internal and external colleagues in grant applications, events organization, outreach and advertising.
  • Supports and collaborates with CLACLS initiatives such as its podcast, social media presence, and newsletter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The candidate should have their doctoral dissertations (or equivalent) in hand and have completed their dissertations within the last five years. Demonstrated experience in applying for grants and fellowships, supervising fellows and staff, editing publications, and organizing events is preferred.

Pay

$65,000-$75,000/year

Schedule

All full-time and part-time CUNY staff are expected to work in-person at their campus office 80% of their work time. For full-time staff, this is equivalent to 8 out of 10 days of in-person work in a two-week period (e.g., 8 days in-person, 2 days remote).
