About the role

The Research Associate supports research projects by conducting data collection, analysis, and reporting. This role involves collaboration with principal investigators, adherence to research protocols, and contribution to scholarly outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and synthesize relevant academic and industry research to support project objectives.
  • Assist in developing study protocols, questionnaires, and data collection tools.
  • May assist with the procurement of lab supplies.
  • Perform data gathering through surveys, interviews, experiments, or secondary sources; ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Draft research findings, technical reports, and contribute to manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Adhere to ethical standards, institutional review board (IRB) requirements, and funding agency guidelines.
  • Coordinate with investigators, graduate students, and external partners to achieve project milestones.
  • Prepare presentations for conferences, seminars, and stakeholder meetings; communicate results clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Biology, Social Sciences, Engineering, or related discipline) and 2 years of research experience (academic or industry).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with grant writing and research funding processes.
  • Familiarity with advanced statistical methods and data visualization tools.
  • Prior experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (IRB, HIPAA, or equivalent).

Skills

  • Excellent organizational, quantitative, computational, and record-keeping skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within a team environment.
  • Ability to work independently.

Schedule

  • Part-time hours between Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Position is funded through August 31, 2027.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours required.

Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • May work around chemicals.
  • Lifting and moving objects.
  • 10% travel.
