Research Associate - Microbiology

About the role

The Department of Microbiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).

Responsibilities

• Investigation of novel adjuvants for mRNA vaccines in various mouse models.
• Further develop critical research skills, literature and experimental techniques.
• Prepare manuscripts.
• Present findings at national and international meetings.

Requirements

• Expertise in the specific area of mRNA biochemistry, mRNA production, immunology (evaluate vaccine-induced cellular and humoral immune responses).
• Work with mice.
• A Ph.D. degree.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.

Skills

• Strong laboratory skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
