Research Associate III - Assay Transfer

About the Role

This is a 2-year position focused on assay transfer, moving products from development to operations. The role involves 40% wet lab work, 30% documentation and writing, and 20-30% meetings and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, execution, and troubleshooting of complex laboratory protocols and bench experiments with minimal supervision.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to solve complex technical problems, optimize workflows, and identify patent or publication opportunities.
• Maintain meticulous records, analyze quantitative data, and generate comprehensive technical reports while upholding "Quality First Time" standards.
• Partner across organizational boundaries, participate in cross-functional technical teams, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
• Contribute to project planning, implement laboratory improvements, and train other team members in areas of expertise.
• Initiate, direct, and execute process characterizations, scientific research, and manufacturing process strategies to support new and existing reagent products.
• Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions, products, and problems to ensure manufacturability and improve processes using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Quality and Manufacturability (DQM).
• Plan and execute laboratory research for process characterizations, scale-up, and process capability improvements.
• Prepare manufacturing documents and complete transfer activities for new products.
• Maintain broad knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science with 4-6 years of post-college experience (or a Master's degree at an entry level).
• Diverse experience is a plus.
• Wet lab and biological techniques experience.
• Previous experience in a regulated environment, product development, and/or manufacturing operations is ideal.

Skills

• Proficiency in a wide range of experimental techniques and their applications.
• Ability to search scientific literature for general and specific information.
• Skilled in word processing, spreadsheets, graphical, and presentation software applications.
• Strong analytical judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Pay

$34 per hour.
