About the role

The Earth Systems Science Center seeks an on-call Climate Data Specialist to assess climate data records and perform analysis on the data to answer research questions regarding the climate of the U.S. and the world.

Responsibilities

• Assess the data records for validity and then perform analysis on the data to answer research questions regarding the climate.
• Locate data records to answer research questions regarding the climate of the U.S. and the world. These records will be found in a combination of paper forms (or images thereof) housed in national archives as well as electronic data files available from various agencies.
• Produce documents that detail the entire process of data discovery, assessment, and analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric or Earth Science.
• 15-18 months of verifiable, full-time work experience in a related field.
