Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Work requires a professional level of knowledge which is acquired by completing three or more years of study beyond a Ph.D. degree in a relevant biomedical discipline.
- Deep knowledge of research methodology is required.
- A high level of analytical ability is necessary in order to design and implement appropriate experiments and to perform complex statistical analysis.
- Analytic ability may also include mathematical modeling or simulation.
- Interpersonal skills necessary to write detailed explanatory reports and articles and to verbally communicate results of research at meetings and conferences.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate direct reports.
- Ability to plan the work of, assign work to and follow-up on the work of a research technician, graduate student or laboratory resident.
- Ability to plan and conduct experiments and analyze resulting data while balancing the needs of the laboratory, the institution and the individual.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
