Research Associate II

Bio-Rad's Clinical Immunology Diagnostics Group is a multidisciplinary team developing products using our BioPlex 2200 Multiplexing Platform. The BioPlex 2200 System is a fully automated, random access multiplex testing platform that combines automation with the diagnostic power of proprietary multiplex chemistry and state-of-the-art eFlex software to bring a new level of flexibility and operational benefits to the laboratory.

About the role

Work under the supervision of a project leader and in collaboration with other R&D scientists on the development of new clinical diagnostic products for the BioPlex 2200 instrumentation platform. Follow established protocols for assay reagent formulation, characterization, and development. Handle clinical human samples including aliquotting, labeling, and testing. Execute assay performance verification studies on the BioPlex 2200 instrument. Work effectively with team members to achieve project goals and deliverables. Document experimental results under the direction of the project leader. Support daily laboratory operations, as well as assist with material and equipment logistics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biological sciences or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in biochemistry and molecular or cellular biology research, preferably in an industrial environment.
• Experience working with standard biochemical techniques including assay development, multiplex assays, ELISA, and use of laboratory instrumentation.
• Strong organizational skills, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and statistical software packages.

This position must be based in Hercules, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Pay

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,310 to $95,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job-related factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, dependent upon achievement of individual objectives and Company performance.
