About the role
Sanofi's contingent workforce program, FLEXT Direct, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented laboratory scientist to join a dynamic research team focused on high-throughput molecular biology workflows. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong scientific acumen and the ability to independently execute and interpret complex experimental data. This role requires a commitment to Good Lab Practices, strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines, and the consistent application of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive impactful results.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-throughput PCR workflows in accordance with established SOPs on a daily basis
- Perform high-throughput cloning operations including Gibson Assembly, restriction digestion, and bacterial transformation
- Conduct high-throughput analytical assays and accurately interpret resulting data
- Maintain rigorous Good Lab Practices and comply with all HSE regulations at all times
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment used in molecular and microbiology workflows
- Record experimental data and protocols accurately using electronic lab notebook systems
- Design and carry out experiments independently, troubleshooting as needed
- Present findings and project updates in group meetings through oral presentations
- Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate results clearly across departments
Skills
- Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, and cloning
- Hands-on experience with microbiology techniques such as bacterial transformation and culture
- Familiarity with Gibson Assembly and restriction enzyme-based cloning strategies
- Ability to follow and implement detailed standard operating procedures with precision
- Strong data interpretation and independent problem-solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn new techniques and adapt quickly in a high-throughput research environment
- Experience with Benchling electronic lab notebook is preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related life science discipline
- Master's degree in a relevant scientific field is preferred and may substitute for one year of required experience
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant laboratory experience for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience for candidates holding a Master's degree
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in a high-throughput or production-oriented laboratory setting is strongly preferred
Schedule
Monday - Friday; 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay
Up to $46 per hour
