About the role
The University of Georgia, founded in 1785, is the state's flagship university and a leader in academic and professional achievements. The College of Veterinary Medicine, established in 1946, trains future veterinarians, provides services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducts investigations to improve the health of animals and people.
Responsibilities
- Tissue culture and maintenance of cell lines
- Preparation and purification of monoclonal antibodies and related proteins
- Processing microbial samples and performance of animal studies under BSLII+ conditions
- Processing of animal samples
- Data analysis and preparation of data for presentation
- Maintenance of records of experimental procedures and results in electronic laboratory notebooks
- Interpretation and presentation of data for laboratory meetings
- Assisting in the training of other technical support staff
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field of science
- Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, Immunology or related life science fields preferred
Qualifications
- Knowledge of laboratory research principles, scientific methods, and safety practices
- Skills in data collection, analysis, and accurate documentation of research activities
- Ability to interpret results and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal formats
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow established protocols, and support team operations including training others
