Research Associate I/II - Cell Separation
Job Summary
BioLegend is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to develop reagents for immunological assays. This role involves developing new products for magnetic cell separation and cell stimulation related applications. Opportunities exist to independently drive research projects from conception to completion, interacting with multi-disciplinary teams.
About the Role
We are open to considering candidates at Research Associate I or II level. Essential Functions
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Primary human/mouse cell preparation and culture.
- Development and optimization of assays aimed at cell isolation and cell analysis, including cell separation, immunofluorescence staining, and cell function.
- Identify and implement new assay technologies that enhance assay throughput and/or performance.
- Analyze flow cytometry data using FlowJo and/or FCS express.
- Analyze experimental data, prepare reports, and present findings to supervisor and/or department for discussion.
- Maintain clear and accurate experimental records and enter information into relevant databases as required by company policy and ISO requirements.
- Maintain facilities, lab equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Promote a safe and compliant work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS Degree in a Life Sciences related area.
- 1+ years of hands-on experience working in a lab environment in academia or industry.
- 1 year of hands-on experience in tissue culture of primary cells and cell lines.
- 1 year of hands-on experience with flow cytometry and immunology experiments.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ months of working experience with magnetic cell-separation assays from primary cell samples.
- Experience with human and mouse primary cell preparation, tissue culture, and immunofluorescence staining.
- Professional experience with flow cytometry.
- Experience using FlowJo and/or FCS express.
- Experience using BD’s Canto II or similar flow cytometers.
- Experience in cell-based assays such as cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Lab - While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a laboratory environment with occasional data entry on a computer. Occasional exposure to a warehouse environment.
