Research Associate I

About the role

Department of Psychiatry, UT MAIN CAMPUS. This is a grant‑funded Research Associate I position in the Fonzo Lab, with an expected continuation until September 30, 2027 (renewable based on funding, performance, and progress). The role starts immediately, is full‑time (40 hours per week), and is exempt from FLSA. The associate supports scientific research by assisting with data collection (clinical interviews, self‑report, functional neuroimaging via MRI, EEG), recruiting and scheduling participants, managing reimbursements, maintaining participant relationships, organizing meetings, and performing administrative duties. A criminal history background check is required for finalists.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory experiments under senior researcher guidance.
• Collect and analyze data through clinical interviews, behavioral measures, and other techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures and results.
• Analyze research data using statistical software and tools; interpret results and prepare reports for senior researchers.
• Assist in preparing research publications and presentations; draft manuscript sections, review content, ensure adherence to guidelines.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment; keep the lab clean, organized, and stocked; follow safety protocols.
