About the role
The Research Associate will be involved in conducting the technical tasks of the project under the direction of the project’s UNSW lead. The role involves research activity in multidisciplinary settings requiring strong artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, power systems programming, and scientific writing skills. The Research Associate will contribute to the development of research results and their publication in international journals or conferences.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- PhD in Data Analytics, Energy Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Optimisation, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
- Demonstrated strong performance in research in areas such as autonomous systems, autopilots, swarm and robotics
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to complete tasks within agreed time frames
Qualifications
- Strong background in artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, and power systems programming
- Proven track record in research and innovation
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration
- Experience in multidisciplinary research environments
