About the role
The Research Associate will be involved in conducting the technical tasks of the project under the direction of the project’s UNSW lead. The role reports to the project’s UNSW lead and does not have direct reports. The position involves research activity in multidisciplinary settings requiring strong artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, power systems programming, and scientific writing skills. The Research Associate will contribute to the development of research results and their publication in international journals or conferences.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical tasks related to the project

- Develop and publish research results in international journals or conferences
Requirements
- PhD in Data Analytics, Energy Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Optimisation, Computer Science, or a similar discipline
- Demonstrated strong performance in research in areas such as autonomous systems, autopilots, swarm and robotics
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to complete tasks within agreed time frames
Qualifications
- Strong background in artificial intelligence, electrical engineering, power systems programming, and scientific writing
- Experience in research activities in multidisciplinary settings
- Proven ability to conduct innovative research
