Description

The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, is seeking a Research Associate for the Academic Support Staff. The appointment is initially for one (1) year, with the possibility of renewal for up to three (3) years based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

Responsibilities

• Investigate regulation and functions of nuclear speckles and chromatin organization during neuronal stimulation.
• Perform molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, and imaging studies related to neuronal and iPSC cell culture.
• Develop and prepare manuscripts and grant applications.
• Present research findings at national meetings.
• Mentor junior scientists.
• Participate in career‑training programs offered by the University.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 3–5 years postdoctoral experience.
• Expertise in neuronal and iPSC cell culture, molecular biology, chromatin biology, genomics, and imaging studies.
