About the Role
The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year, with continuation and renewal based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years).
Responsibilities
- Investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying hepatocyte polarization and bile canaliculi formation using molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and both cell culture and animal models.
- Develop critical thinking skills and become familiar with the relevant literature and experimental techniques.
- Prepare manuscripts and grant applications.
- Present research findings at national and international meetings.
- Mentor junior scientists.
- Participate in career development programs offered by the University.
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in a relevant field.
- Expertise in protein biochemistry, live-cell imaging, molecular biology, proteomics, RNA-seq, cell culture techniques, and mouse genetics.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of postdoctoral experience.
