About the role
The Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences is creating an inclusive environment that values diversity and promotes equity. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research related to a tomato project and assisting with the citrus project, adhering to EPA and FDA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Field sampling, extraction, and analysis of samples from a multi-year tomato project
- Preparation of documents for EPA submission and assessment for possible commercial citrus lines
- Label approval from the FDA
- Contributing to the management of lab personnel
- Participating in grant writing as a PI or co-PI on grant proposals
- Engaging in all three mission areas: research, teaching, and extension
Requirements
- PhD in the life sciences, plant science, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written communication and publication of scholarly work
- Experience in a research setting with analysis, visualization, and interpretation of large datasets, especially sensitive data types
- Supportive of the Land-Grant system and committed to UF core values
- Preferred: Postdoctoral experience
