Research Assistant Professor
About the Role
We are seeking a Research Assistant Professor in Chemical Biology / Chemical Proteomics for the Deiters lab at the University of Pittsburgh. This is a 12-month, hard-money appointment designed as a long-term research faculty role with opportunities for advancement through the research professor ranks. The position may also serve as a springboard toward an independent tenure-track career.
A major focus will be expanding our capabilities in chemical proteomics, particularly in support of our work on covalent modifiers and related programs aimed at developing new therapeutic approaches. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry instrumentation based on Orbitrap and TOF platforms.
Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on research in chemical proteomics
- Shape research projects and guide the scientific direction of the group
- Develop collaborations and prepare manuscripts and grant applications
- Mentor junior scientists
Requirements
- PhD in chemistry, biology, chemical biology, or a related area
- Postdoctoral experience and expertise in mass spectrometry/proteomics (preferred)
