Duties And Responsibilities

  • Address critical and emerging issues in the field of ruminant nutrition.
  • Develop and establish a competitively funded independent research program.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Recruit students for the animal science program.
  • Serve on institutional committees.
  • Provide services to professional organizations, the University, and the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition.
  • Must demonstrate competency in using available statistical software.
  • Expected research excellence in the area of ruminant nutrition.
  • Ability to generate external funding is expected.
  • Absolutely essential to effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues in teaching, research, and extension.
  • Experience beyond the Ph.D. is desirable.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with travel as required.
  • Must be able to work outdoors with variable environmental conditions as required for research.

Physical Requirements

  • The individual must be able to walk on uneven ground.
  • Navigate in tight space.
  • Handle sharp knives and other cutting pieces of equipment.
  • Lift about 50 pounds.
