About the role
Research Assistants in the Post-War & Contemporary Art department support our specialists and sales teams by undertaking detailed research on works of art cosigned for sale. This includes, but is not limited to, bibliographical research; investigating exhibition histories and provenance information; writing catalogue essays; sourcing and processing archival images; and preparing client-facing sales materials.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed research on works of art cosigned for sale.
- Write catalogue essays and prepare client-facing sales materials.
- Support the smooth running of the department during the rest of the year.
Requirements
- A comprehensive knowledge of art history, gained either through an undergraduate or master’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Exceptional communication skills (both spoken and written).
- Willingness to contribute ideas and learn from colleagues.
- Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
