Research Assistant - Post-War & Contemporary Art (Temporary)

About the role

Research Assistants in the Post-War & Contemporary Art department support our specialists and sales teams by undertaking detailed research on works of art cosigned for sale. This includes, but is not limited to, bibliographical research; investigating exhibition histories and provenance information; writing catalogue essays; sourcing and processing archival images; and preparing client-facing sales materials.

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed research on works of art cosigned for sale.
• Write catalogue essays and prepare client-facing sales materials.
• Support the smooth running of the department during the rest of the year.

Requirements

• A comprehensive knowledge of art history, gained either through an undergraduate or master’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Exceptional communication skills (both spoken and written).
• Willingness to contribute ideas and learn from colleagues.
• Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and competing deadlines.
