Responsibilities
- Analyze the growth and development of malaria parasites using in vitro cell culture techniques.
- Perform standard molecular biology experiments, including DNA extraction, Polymerase Chain Reaction, gel electrophoresis, and plasmid construction and isolation.
- Perform standard immunoassays, such as flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy, and immunoblotting.
- Isolate human peripheral white blood cell populations for transcript analysis.
- Evaluate and interpret laboratory test results.
- Maintain clear and accurate laboratory records, inventories, and logbooks.
- Perform data entry for research projects and maintain databases.
- Laboratory management, including monitoring and ordering supplies, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Scientific discipline with a strength in molecular or cell biology highly preferred.
- Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.
- Knowledge of standard laboratory techniques.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
- Strong microbiology background preferred.
- Tissue culture experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.
